Village of Mount Prospect Swears In Re-Elected Mayor, Re-Elected Trustees, and New Trustee

At the May 6 Village Board meeting, the Village of Mount Prospect swore in Paul Wm. Hoefert as Mayor and John J. Matuszak, Terri Gens, and Elizabeth “Beth” DiPrima as Trustees.

Mayor Paul Wm. Hoefert was re-elected for a second consecutive four-year term as Mayor of Mount Prospect. Prior to this, Mayor Hoefert served eight consecutive terms, beginning in 1991, as a Village Trustee. Overall, he has dedicated 34 years to elected office on the Village’s Board. Professionally, Mayor Hoefert has a deep financial background having 44 years of experience in the financial services industry at a number of major banking organizations, including Northern Trust. He and his wife Linda have lived in Mount Prospect for 43 years, where they raised two sons and now have three grandchildren.

Trustee John J. Matuszak was re-elected for a four-year term as Village Trustee. He began his time on the Village Board in 2008 as an appointee and was elected to the board the following year. Overall, he has dedicated 13 years to the Village Board. Prior to retirement, Trustee Matuszak served as General Counsel for the U.S. Navy. He has lived in Mount Prospect for 31 years.

Trustee Terri Gens was re-elected for a second consecutive four-year term as Village Trustee. She began her time on the Village Board in 2021. Overall, she has dedicated four years to the Village Board. Professionally, Trustee Gens works as Senior Director of Development for a social services organization. She has lived in Mount Prospect for 23 years.
Trustee Elizabeth “Beth” DiPrima was newly elected for a four-year term as Village Trustee. Prior to retirement, Trustee DiPrima was a science teacher at William Fremd High School. She has lived in Mount Prospect for 28 years.

Hoefert. “I am also incredibly humbled and grateful to serve the people of our fine community for another four years as Mayor of Mount Prospect. We have the momentum, and together this Village Board will continue moving us forward. Amazing opportunities await our Village in the future.”
