Have you ever wondered why some plants don’t seem to grow very well, while others thrive? The soil you grow them in has a lot to do with plant growth and health. We will discuss various kinds of soil, soil formation, soil characteristics, soil PH and soil amendments. We will focus on the soils that exist in our area and what you can do to make your garden a more inviting place for plants. Rolfe Jaremus has been gardening for over 60 years and composting for 45 of those years at a family farm with a large organic vegetable garden. Rolfe has gardened in a variety of soils from silty sand to heavy clay. Guests are welcome.
