Daylight Savings is March 11 - Change Your Clocks, Change Your Batteries
When you change your clocks on March 11 for daylight savings, remember to also change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. The Mount Prospect Fire Department recommends you change the batteries in these devices at least twice a year, and any time you hear the “chirp” warning of a low battery. “Change your clocks, change your batteries” is a simple way to remember to follow this recommendation so you always have working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
For assistance with replacing your smoke alarm batteries, please contact the Fire Prevention Bureau at 847-818-5253.
